In addition to the health risk like cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. Carrying extra weight often comes with self-esteem issues which affect the quality of life. However, there is hope, with the right planning you can free yourself from carrying all that extra kilos.
Things that trip up your metabolism
By comparison, when your body is in a ‘happy place’ and life is in balance you don’t overeat. You manage your stress well, and you are resilient to weight gain. On the other hand, when life becomes more of a challenge than support we put on the pounds. There’re a number of factors that accelerate this process:
- Sedentary lifestyle
- Lack of exercise
- Consume high energy foods
- Inadequate protein
- Low fibre
- Poor sleep
- Stress or anxiety

PHASE ONE. The assessment phase: this is our first visit where we will discuss your history and what you have tried in the past if anything. I will use my nineteen years of experience as a clinician to access what may be contributing to your weight gain. At times this may include some pathology tests. Once we have established the causes, we will then tailor the program to your profile.
PHASE TWO: You start your first five-week module with three must eat meals a day and some individualised supplements. We pre-schedule weekly visits. Throughout this, you have as much contact with me as you need.
PHASE THREE: We start to space the appointments further apart yet you still have as much contact with me as you need. Maintenance typically lasts for three months where I teach you how to keep the weight off. At the same time we wean you off the diet and start to integrate you into the mainstream by introducing additional foods. This is what set this diet apart from every other diet. You will learn exactly how much fuel your body can burn and once you know this secret formula you will be the master of your weight.
PHASE FOUR: Typically in this phase, we see each other less and less, perhaps four to six times a year. However, as long as you are a patient of mine, you will always have as much contact with me as you need. This is the ongoing lifestyle – living with the weight off and applying what you learned in Phase Three.
